JO&JOE Budapest – Colours, Character, Experience

The JO&JOE Budapest project is a perfect example of how design can go beyond aesthetics and actively shape the guest experience. Functioning as a hybrid between a hostel and a social destination, the concept is built around shared experiences, interaction, and a relaxed atmosphere, all of which are reflected throughout the interior.

For the project, Basic Collection supplied a significant portion of the furniture for the communal areas. Lounge zones, dining spaces, and areas designed for both work and relaxation feature carefully selected pieces that combine functionality with a strong visual identity. The diverse forms, bold colours, and distinctive details complement the youthful and energetic spirit of the JO&JOE brand.

One of the defining aspects of the project is the seamless connection between different functions and spaces. Indoor and outdoor areas flow naturally into one another, while the furniture creates a cohesive design language throughout the building. Communal tables, lounge furniture, chairs, and outdoor pieces all contribute to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that is central to the JO&JOE concept.
Throughout the project, Basic Collection worked closely with the designers and developers to ensure that every furniture solution supported the overall interior concept. The result is a characterful, experience-driven environment where design, durability, and hospitality come together to create a distinctive destination.
