What is Moroso?
Agostino Moroso founded Moroso in northeastern Italy in 1952, building the brand’s reputation on local craftsmanship. An artisan approach to product manufacturing combined with extraordinary creativity during the design phase established the vision that enabled the company to grow and distinguish itself through exceptional product quality, innovation, and creativity.
Through creative collaborations with renowned designers such as Ron Arad, Patricia Urquiola, Ross Lovegrove, Konstantin Grcic, Alfredo Häberli, Toshiyuki Kita, Marcel Wanders, Tokujin Yoshioka, Enrico Franzolini, Doshi & Levien, Tord Boontje, Nendo, Front, and many others, Moroso has created a collection of iconic design furniture over the years.
Moroso remains a family business today under the leadership of Roberto Moroso and Patrizia Moroso. Their guidance allows Moroso to continuously evolve its manufacturing processes without compromising its artistic vision. Iconic Moroso Furniture
The Gogan sofa takes its name from nature—specifically from stones smoothed by water and time, which provided the inspiration for the project. In Japan, gogan refers to the stones placed along the banks of rivers and lakes for protection and decoration. The sofa’s shape recalls flat stones carved by wind and water. Much like the sofa, the Gogan coffee table in the collection evokes nature and the sight of stones slowly polished smooth by water.
The character of the Ruff armchair stems from a harmonious combination of straight and curved lines—a simple geometry that creates an architectural interaction with space. It offers a minimalist contemporary design, with a unique twist in the seamless, integrated form of its armrests and backrest.
Moroso furniture doesn’t just dazzle with its forms—among its vibrant mix of colors and patterns, you’ll find truly extraordinary outdoor pieces. The M’Afrique collection is crafted using the same woven threads typically used for fishing nets. Each design is distinct and unique, just like its name. Handwoven, they are beautifully human in their slight imperfections and flaws.
